Now that you have found the home, it's time to place the home. Typically, the home is going to be placed on land you already own or plan to buy, or on a lot within a manufactured housing community.

Placement of homes on private land may require that you consider zoning and restrictive covenant issues. One should also consider that the owner would be responsible for water, electric, septic and the home foundation. A homeowner should consult local utility providers and health agencies for issues related to placement on private land.

A home may also be placed in a community where the homeowner rents the lot on which the home is placed. Water, electric and septic are provided at the pad for tie-in. A pad foundation system is typically provided at the lot as well.
